Between the Epidemics of the Corona Virus, the CBSE is continuously working hard to get the best of the changes in the education industry. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) recently introduced some new vocational subjects for the students from Class 6 onwards, the duration of which last from 12 hour study module to a full-fledged year long academic preparations.

The vocational subjects have been in the optional curriculum list of CBSE from past few years. So it keeps on adding new subjects as per the changing times. The idea behind the vocational subjects is to introduce exposure to skill sets which a student may require in the later stage of life.

As per the CBSE, more than 8 lakh students are presently studying skill subjects at the secondary and higher secondary level in more than 8000+ CBSE Schools across India.

In the addition to the vocational subjects, recently CBSE included three new courses – design thinking, artificial intelligence and physical activity trainer. A letter from the board to schools says that these have been introduced to make the new generation more creative, innovative and physically fit, and to keep them in pace with the global developments and requirements at the workplace.

Besides these new programmes, CBSE is already offering 17 skill subjects at secondary level and 37 skill subjects at senior secondary level to upgrade the skills and proficiency of the young generation and also to provide them awareness to explore various career options
