Due to the corona pandemic, the nationwide lockdown was implemented which has changed the academic calendar for the students. Due to these current situations, the students are shifting towards the online education.

Taking a note on this issue the Public Broadcasters Doordarshan and All India Radio (AIR) are set to broadcast educational videos and content for the learning, in association with the state governments.

The educational programmes will be broadcasted across TV, YouTube and Radio. The programmes would cover all sections across primary, secondary and high school levels, the special benefits would be for the students of 10th and 12th. They can prepare for their competitive exams for engineering and medical entrance exams.

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting said in an official release, “The total number of hours of daily content across DD Network would be of 17 hours and 11 hours across AIR network. In some of the states the education will be imparted in the form of storytelling and quizzes.

Doordarshan is going to broadcast these virtual classes in Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Jammu and Kashmir and Gujarat so far – for approximately 2.5 hours daily.

While the All India Radio is going to telecast 30 minutes of virtual sessions across Vijayawada, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Tiruchirapalli, Coimbatore, Puducherry, Madurai, Trivandrum, Tirunelveli, Panaji, Jalgaonm, Ratnagiri, Sangli, Parbhani, Aurangabad, Pune, Nagpur, Mumbai, Gangtok, Guwahati, Bikaner, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Jaipur, Bhopal, Chennai, Kozhikode and Thrissur.
